Construction work on the Second Street Improvement Project could be wrapped up as early as Saturday, Whitefish City Manager Chuck Stearns reports.

Paving between Baker and Central Avenues was completed last week and this week concrete sidewalks and crosswalks were poured. With the change in weather is takes longer for the concrete to cure before trucks can drive on it. They hope to open Second Street by this weekend and pull out all equipment for a winter shutdown.

Crews will return in early April to finish the half block of Second Street west of Spokane Avenue.
