Have your leaves ready

COEUR d'ALENE - While city crews are unable to provide a precise schedule of precisely where leaf pickup will take place at each moment, rest assured, it will take place.

Beginning Monday Coeur d'Alene street crews will begin picking up piles of leaves residents have raked into the street.

The program will start up south of Sherman Avenue and move north, wrapping up Wednesday, Nov. 23.

One pass only, so make the most of it and have your leaves ready.

A few helpful tips to make it easier on the crews:

Do: Keep cars off the street if possible, rake leaves about one foot off the curb line to facilitate stormwater flow, be alert for leaf pick-up equipment traveling through your neighborhood and watch for sweepers which will follow city trucks to collect remaining leaves.

Don't place bagged leaves in street, mix branches, rubble or other refuse in with the leaves.
