MARDON RESORT - Some below 20 degree temperatures in central Eastern Washington have arrived!
With many still water small ponds icing over, waterfowl relate to the big water of Potholes Reservoir. The waterfowlers mecca - Mallards and Pintail are more plentiful now. With more corn on the Columbia Basin Project than ever the factors look great for duck and goose hunters. Remember the northern nesting counts conducted showed the highest count on waterfowl in 42 years! These counts are the criteria used by the Feds to establish limits and waterfowl hunting season.

MARDON RESORT - Central Washington is enjoying an earlier spring than the last two years. Ice off was three weeks earlier this year compared to 2012.

The end of October, Halloween, and early November means fall is in the air. The beginning of the northern flights of waterfowl, lunker walleye on Potholes Reservoir, and especially Goose Hunting in fields are all activities outdoor enthusiasts enjoy this time of year. The water level on Potholes Reservoir has risen almost 8 feet since the lowest level of 2014.
