Anne O. Satchwell, 87

Anne O. Satchwell, 87, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend was taken home on Nov. 6, 2011. She was born Jan. 5, 1924, in Parkers Prairie, Minn., to Ora and Mahalia Johnson.

The family moved to Spokane while Anne was a child. Anne worked as a dental assistant after graduating from high school.

She married Roy C. Satchwell in 1950. Anne and Roy built a home on the Spokane River on South Greensferry Road in Post Falls, where they raised their two boys, Steven and Robert.

While the boys were growing up, Anne returned to work as a dental assistant and later obtained certification and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Anne and Roy retired to Lucille, Idaho, where they served as paramedics on the Lucille Volunteer Ambulance Service. In 1994, they moved to Lewiston.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lyle Johnson, and sister Thelma Amsden. She is survived by her husband of more than 61 years; son Maj. Steven Satchwell (U.S. Air Force, Retired) and spouse Cecilia of Albuquerque, N.M.; son Dr. Robert and wife Dr. Karla Satchwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the staff of Guardian Angel Homes where Anne spent her final months.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at the Orchards United Methodist Church in Lewiston, with graveside services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. Anne's care has been entrusted to Mountain View Funeral Home in Lewiston.
