The snow is falling, the trees are cut,

the bows are tied and more than 10,000 lights have been checked and

double-checked.

Community volunteers known as the

Bigfork Elves will gather at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, to decorate

the village with fresh garlands and trees, red bows and colored

lights. (See article below.)Their efforts will create a colorful

background for an old-fashioned Christmas celebration known for

good food, great music, art and of course, Santa Claus.

After the decorations are hung the

party progresses from 3 to 7 p.m. as visitors stroll through

galleries and shops during Bigfork’s annual Holiday Art Walk.

The walk will conclude with the

Christmas tree lighting at 7 p.m. in front of the Bigfork Inn.

While the rest of the village is decked out in colored lights and

red bows, the village tree will shine with gold bows and crystal

lights.

Every Saturday until Christmas, many

Bigfork merchants will stay open until 8 p.m.

Classic carriage rides through Bigfork

will be offered from 2 to 5 p.m. every Saturday through

December.

During the art walk, shops and

galleries will feature refreshments along with the opportunity to

sign up for the $100 gift certificate offered by participating

galleries.

Those that aren’t sure of an exact item

to pick up for a friend or family member are encouraged to “give

the gift of Bigfork.” More than 50 businesses are participating in

the Bigfork gift certificate program, making it very easy to give

the perfect gift to everyone on your list.

For additional information about

celebrating an old-fashioned Christmas or for gift certificates

contact the Bigfork Chamber at 837-5888 or visit the website at
