Dec. 31,1924 - Nov. 5, 2011

Born in Spokane to Ivan E. and Agnes E. (Gill) Orr. Raised in Coeur d'Alene, Bob graduated from IHM Academy and North Idaho Junior College.

He served as a B17 pilot during World War II and then as a P51 pilot with the Air Force Reserve. He then moved with his family to Fairbanks, Alaska, where he flew for Wein Alaska Airlines for several years. He enjoyed a career with the FAA as a Air Traffic Controller in Spokane, Guam in the Pacific Islands, and Oakland International Airport and Edwards AFB in California.

After retirement, and together with his wife of 62 adventurous years, traveled through this great country in their RV. In recent years they spent winters in Quartzsite, Ariz. Where a moving memorial was presented by his many friends and where Alice currently resides.

Although Bob lived in many locations he always emphatically claimed Coeur d'Alene as home. No matter his location he continued subscribing to the Coeur d'Alene Press so he could keep up with the local comings and goings. He thoroughly enjoyed his later years spending summers on the St. Joe River with fishing rod in hand and HAM radio at his side.

Bob is survived by wife Alice, sons Michael and Patric, daughter Cynthia, nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, brother Jack and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charley and brother Jerry.

He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1254.
