SANDPOINT - Senior post Maggie Kirscher scored a career-high 36 points to lead the Sandpoint Bulldogs over the Timberlake Tigers 49-41 in a nonleague game Thursday night at Les Rogers Court.
Kirscher made 12 of 13 free throws, many down the stretch as the Bulldogs (1-1) went on a pivotal 10-0 run late in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
"Our game plan going in was to play inside out. They (Tigers) were trapping on the perimeter, which left Maggie isolated," Sandpoint coach Lance Bruce said. "The the team defense was clutch."
Kelly Madsen scored 13 points to lead the Tigers, who held a 41-39 lead before the Bulldogs went on the game-clinching run.
Timberlake (1-1) travels to Clark Fork on Tuesday.
