Mary Patricia Gallagher Holdren, 53, passed away November 14, 2011, at her home, her "life for many years", with many family members present. She was born in Soap Lake, WA on July 8, 1958 to Thomas Roger Gallagher and Norma Jean Rodgers Gallagher. She married Frank Lee Holdren on October 19, 1974. They recently celebrated their 37th anniversary.
She is survived by her husband, Frank, daughter Bridget and Ron Taguay, Granddaughter Kortni Ashton Tanguay, and her siblings: Thomas Michael Gallagher, Arizona, Colleen Frances Gallagher and Brian Biggerstaff, Idaho, Shannon Ethely and Michael Dyer, Nebraska, Kevin Gregston Gallagher and Sandy Phillips, Moses Lake, and Toshiyuki Matsumoto, Oregon. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She will also be missed by Frank's mother, Dorene Bendickson and Frank's extended family, her "adopted granddaughter", Lynna Lattin, her neighbors and her many friends. Also by her protectors, Peek-a-boo, Nitro and Jezzabelle.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Maureen Elizabeth (as an infant) and her brother Sean Patrick Gallagher on March 16, 2005.
She lived in the Moses Lake area all her adult life. Her youth was spent in many places in Southwest Washington as the family moved with her father's construction jobs. She has done many things in her life from being a manager at J. C. Penney's, Maurice's, Harrah's and Mary Ann's $10.00 Store, to being a highway construction roller operator.
She loved caring for her home, yard, and gardens with lots of gnomes as helpers. Shecanned and froze the produce she grew and taught others to can. She loved to entertain with BBQs in the back yard, go swimming, hot tubbing, boating, water skiing, snow skiing, wine tasting, exercising and caring for and watching the geese, ducks and horses. She loved antiques and treasured and protected many items she inherited from family members who predeceased her.
Thanks are extended to Scott Mounts, PAC, and Central Basin Home Health and Hospice.
Services are at Benson's Funeral Home on the corner of Fithe Avenue and Division in Moses Lake on Saturday, November 19, at 11:00 AM. An open house will be held at the home after the service.
