MOSES LAKE - Colin Deyarmin rushed for 152 yards on 18 carries and scored four touchdowns to lead Almira/Coulee-Hartine (ACH) to a 52-8 win over Touchet at Lions Field Friday.

"I thought the kids played very well tonight," coach Brandon Walsh said. "We got off to a fast start and had a couple of big plays early that put the momentum in our favor."

It was a cold night for football as the temperature at game time was 19 degrees and the stands were encompassed with a cloud of frozen breath from fans rooting on both teams.

But, it didn't take long for ACH to heat things up as, the Warriors received the opening kickoff and marched 57 yards down the field for a score on their first possession of the game.

Deyarmin hit pay dirt from 11 yards out, and quarterback Derek Isaak punched in the 2-point conversion, to give the Warriors an 8-0 lead three and a half minutes into the contest.

Touchet's initial drive started on its 31 yard line. The Indians moved the ball to the 41, but turned it over on a fumble that was recovered by the Warriors Tucker Matthewson.

ACH took over on the Touchet 44 and in the blink of an eye; Isaak rushed around the left side of the line and took it to the house for the score. The 2-point run by Deyarmin put the Warrior up 16-0 with five minutes left in the first quarter.

The Indians returned the ensuing kickoff to the team's 30 yard line. Quarterback Elias Martinez scrambled for 36 yards on a third down and five to keep the drive alive. Martinez connected with Matt Shute on the next play for 34 yards and a touchdown. The 2-point conversion by Colton Goble was good and Touchet narrowed to gap to 16-8.

ACH took possession at the Warrior 35 following the kickoff and moved the ball to the 47 as the first 12 minutes expired.

On the first play of the second quarter, Deyarmin took the handoff and bounced of several would be tacklers on his way to a 53-yard score. The 2-point conversion run by Isaak was good and ACH increased its lead to 24-8.

"That was a pretty exciting run," Walsh said. "Colin is a hard runner who doesn't shy away from contact. He keeps his feet moving at all times and is hard to brings down."

The Indians turned the ball over on downs on their next possession, giving the ball back to ACH on the Warriors 38.

A run off a fake punt by ACH advanced the pigskin to the Touchet 49 with seven minutes left in the half.

A scramble by Isaak carry pushed the ball to the Indians 30. One play later, Isaak hit Deyarmin for a touchdown, but the play was nullified on a holding penalty.

Deyarmin scored moments later on a 9-yard run. The 2-point conversion by Isaak was good and ACH led 32-8.

The Warrior got another score with 36 seconds left on the clock on another TD run by Deyarmin and 2-point conversion by Isaak to go up 40-8 at intermission.

Up by 32 at the break, Walsh was tasked with keeping his team focused.

"I really didn't have to say much to the kids," he said. "They are a pretty focused group and understand what's at stake. A lot of the guys from last years semifinal team feel like there is some unfinished to attend to so they weren't going to be distracted."

Touchet started the first drive of the third quarter on its 12 yard line and was able to make two first downs, but had to punt to ACH.

Isaak returned the ball to the Indians 39 and after back-to-back penalties, Thunder Wellhausen hauled in a pass from Isaak on fourth and goal from the 10. The 2-point conversion failed, but the Warriors led 46-8 at the end of the third quarter.

ACH, looking to put another six on the board to invoke the 40-point mercy rule, did just that on a 1-yard pass from Isaak to Drew Isaak for the win, 52-8.

ACH will play Pomeroy at noon on Saturday in a semifinal match up at Edgar Brown Stadium in Pasco.

"They are a physical team that runs the veer option," Walsh said. "Their running backs are good athletes and the quarterback is the fastest kid on the team, so we are going to have to tackle well and play our best ball as the level of competition really increases when you get to this point."
