Grateful for Troy Christmas tree

Letter to the Editor,
Slowly, but surely, the Troy Christmas Tree is getting ready for its best lighting in several years.
The volunteers strung 19 new 100-foot LED light strands Sept. 17. Everyone met at 10:30 a.m. and did not leave until 4:30 p.m.
Once again, Chuck Ekstedt spent more than five hours in the tree with the wind blowing. He will climb the tree Nov. 19 to place the star and an additional five strands of lights.
Hopefully, the wind and the weather will be more cooperative.
The following people helped put the bulbs into the strand, control traffic and/or directed the stringing of the lights: Clare Chapel; Paul Edstedt; Jim Bowen; Betty Phillips; Launa Baas; Marilyn McDougall; Loretta Jones; Heather McDougall; Gary Rose; Linda Rose; Randy Borgmann; Fran McCully; John Clogston; Phil Fisher; Tyler Edstedt; Adrianne Borgmann; Ellie Borgmann
We also wanted to thank Frontier Communications for supplying the hooks that connected the light strands to the cable at the top of the tree.
