Wintry weather has closed many Glacier National Park roads for the until spring.
The Inside North Fork, Two Medicine, Many Glacier and Chief Mountain roads are all closed. The Camas Road remains open and has been plowed. The Sun Road is still open to Avalanche Creek on the west side, but closed down to St. Mary on the east side.
The Park - particularly in the higher elevations - was pummeled last week by snow and cold temperatures. The West Flattop SNOTEL shows 22 inches of snow on the ground at 6,300 feet. Noisy Basin south of Columbia Falls has 20 inches of snow. Many Glacier has eight inches of snow.
Another round of snow is expected this week in higher terrain, with rain and snow mixed at lower elevations, with highs about 40 during the day.
