HONOLULU - Collin Chiverton scored 20 points, Cliff Ederaine added 18 and Eastern Washington cruised to an 89-72 victory over Hawaii late Tuesday night.

Eastern Washington (2-2) used a 25-5 run midway through the game to put it out of reach. The Eagles scored 12 of the first half's final 14 points to lead 33:29 at the break. They opened the second half with a 13-3 spurt for a 46-32 advantage with 15:27 left. Jeffrey Forbes capped the rally with a pair of 3-pointers from the left wing.

"I'm really happy and the players are just ecstatic right now," said first-year Eastern coach Jim Hayford. "It's a long haul and we're 2-2 with 30 games on the schedule. But what they did tonight is gain some confidence."

Eastern Washington's largest lead was 83-64 after a pair of free throws by Cliff Colimon with 1:42 remaining.

Colimon added 15 points and Forbes had 14 for Eastern Washington, which made 17 of 30 field-goal attempts in the second half.
