POST FALLS - A golf fundraiser for Jerry Genschorck, who has terminal brain cancer, will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Prairie Falls Golf Club, 3200 N. Spokane St., Post Falls.

Cost is $50, which includes a cart and dinner. Those interested can register by calling 457-0210 until Sunday morning. Registration starts at noon. There will be a shotgun start and prizes for closest to the pin.

The tournament is a four-person scramble format.

Donations for silent and live auctions are being accepted. Hole sponsorships are $100.

Genschorck, 64, is a Vietnam veteran.

Jerry's wife, Patrice, is a member at Prairie Falls and works at American West Bank in Coeur d'Alene.

"I can't tell you how appreciative I feel that so many people have pulled together for me and my husband," Patrice said. "The kindness has been amazing."

The fundraiser is being presented by Prairie Falls and Bell Tower Funeral Home.

"She's struggling with this situation and we wanted to offer her some support," said Darrell Hull, Prairie Falls' director of golf. "It's the least we could do for her and her husband."

Hull said the couple, who live in Liberty Lake, have insurance, but still have medical bills. Patrice also took six months off work to care for Jerry.

"We want to help pay for what insurance doesn't," Hull said.
