Gustavo Rodriguez Guerra (Tio Tavio) passed away peacefully at his home on September 26, 2011. He was born on April 28, 1942 in Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Jose Sabas Guerra and Bernarda Rodriguez.

He spent his teenage years traveling with his brothers and sisters from Mexico to California to work in the grape vines. On September 14, 1965 in Madera, California he married Anastacia Martinez Martinez. They had three childern; Armandina (Mandy), Reynaldo, and Adrain. He moved his family to Warden, Wa in 1965. He had various farm jobs and worked for Jerry Benson Farms for many years. He loved working out in his gardens and building things. He enjoyed sharing his fruits and vegetables with his family and friends. You would often see Gus up early in the morning driving around town and out in the country.

He is survived by his wife, Anastacia Martinez Guerra, daughter Armandina, and only grandson Adrain G. Vela all of Warden, three sisters; Petra Guerra de Pruneda, Warden,

Hesmerejilda Guerra de Martinez of Roma, TX, Apolonia Guerra de Martinez, Rio Grande, TX and one brother; Lorenzo R. Guerra of Warden, and many nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and 2 sons; Reynaldo and Adrain Guerra, 2 sisters; Ramona Guerra de Martinez and Paula Guerra de Martinez. and 2 brothers; Prudencio R. Guerra and Ruben R. Guerra.

Viewing will be Thursday, September 29th from 10 am to 10 pm at Bensons Funeral Home in Moses Lake. There will also be a viewing at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church Friday, September 30th from 9am to noon, with Holy Rosary starting at noon. Holy Mass will begin at 1pm with Christian Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Warden.

After the burial service, a reception will follow at the Queen of all Saints Catholic Church.
