POLSON — A 26-year-old Spokane woman pleaded not guilty in Lake County District Court last Wednesday to charges of criminal possession with intent to distribute after meth was discovered in her vehicle when she was pulled over on U.S. Highway 93 near Ronan, in August.
Beth Oldhorn could face up to a maximum of 20 years in prison and a fine of $50,000, if convicted.
According to court documents, Lake County deputies and tribal officers searched the vehicle that Oldhorn was a passenger in on Aug. 3 when the driver, Shawn Morefield, appeared extremely nervous. Officers found two packages of meth and both Morefield and Oldhorn were arrested.
Oldhorn later admitted while being interviewed by a DEA agent that she intended on selling the drugs.
An omnibus hearing is set for Oct. 26 and a jury trial is set for Jan. 17. Oldhorn remains in custody and her bail has been set at $25,000.
