MOSES LAKE - Supporters of the Boys and Girls Club of the Columbia Basin got a chance to relive their prom nights Saturday during the 16th Annual Wine and Microbrew Tasting, Dinner and Auction.

Men adorned tuxedos and suits, accompanied by women in sleek, colorful dresses. Throughout the night, people bid on auction items, enjoyed dinner, and sipped wine and beer in Big Bend Community College's ATEC building.

The event featured more than 80 live and "almost live" auction items and more than 200 silent auction items. The diverse list of auction items included sports memorabilia, vacation stays, gift certificates and tickets for everything from sporting events to plays, just to name a few.

Money raised from the auction will be used to fund Boys and Girls club programs and operations.

Chuck Yarbro entertained the crowd while conducting the auction.

Chuck Sutton, who is on the Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors, and his wife, Lori Sutton, are no strangers to the annual fundraiser. They've experienced several of the fundraiser's ever-changing themes, dressing up in costumes that brought to mind James Bond, the roaring '20s, and the Kentucky Derby.

"The themes are great. That's a lot of fun," said Sutton. "A lot of people get into it."

"We just feel it's really important to give back to the community," said Lori. "There's always lots of good stuff to bid on. The auction items are always really fun. The dinners are always good. You get to visit with all your friends."

It was the first auction for Pat and Patty Jones, although they've supported the Boys and Girls Club in other areas for years.

"It's a wonderful event," said Pat. "Great participation and a great cause."

The main sponsor for the fundraiser was the Moses Lake Lioness Club.
