MOSES LAKE - A 22-year-old Moses Lake fugitive was found with a pipe bomb, guns and marijuana near Moses Lake Saturday afternoon.

Grant County Sheriff's deputies visited a residence on Lincoln Drive Northeast where they expected to find Margarito Leyva, who was wanted on two arrest warrants for driving while license suspended, according to Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones.

Deputies called for assistance after they heard several voices in a shed on the property, smelled marijuana smoke and heard a handgun slide-action being racked several times, Jones stated.

While deputies were awaiting backup one man emerged from the shed and was detained. Deputies then ordered the other occupants out of the shed and detained them as well.

The detainees included Leyva and three Moses Lake males, ages 19, 20 and 23, Jones stated.

A search warrant was obtained and deputies entered the shed to find and confiscate two firearms, one of which was listed as stolen, along with a pipe bomb and a small amount of marijuana.

Leyva was booked into Grant County Jail on two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm, according to Jones.

The investigation continues, he added.

The other men found on the property were not arrested for any crimes but detectives are still considering seeking charges, Jones stated.

"Deputies did a great job making this arrest and got two guns and a pipe bomb out of the hands of a known felon," Jones stated. "Our citizens don't want criminals with guns walking the streets, and our deputies will do their best to make sure that doesn't happen."
