Elizabeth 'Betty' H. Beamer, 94

Elizabeth “Betty” H. Beamer, 94, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at her home in Hayden that she shared with her son and daughter-in-law.
She arrived early on a very stormy day in Cambridge on Jan. 15, 1917, where she spent her first days in a shoe box in the family oven to keep her warm. During Betty’s 94 years, she grew up in Oregon in the Adams and Milton Freewater area where she married Archie Beamer, raised their four children, was a pilot for the family farm and also a local business owner.
She then moved to Yakima in the ‘60s, Betty received her master’s degree in education at Central Washington University and stayed in the Ellensburg area teaching special education until she retired to Ocean Park. Her later years were spent in Hayden.
Betty was actively involved with the Eagles, the Moose and the Elks and other various clubs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie, and her son, Jim Beamer; and survived by her two sons, Don and Duane Beamer and daughter Judy Coleman. She had 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She will be missed.
