Although the Badger varsity volleyball lost to Priest River last Thursday, coach Janis Tucker said the team played much better  than they did against the team two weeks ago.

With a score of 13-25, 17-25 and 17-25 the Badgers managed to lower their service errors, pass serve errors and hitting errors.

We can’t seem to put the ball down for a kill,” Tucker said.  “When you are playing against a lineup that has players who are 6’1”, 5’10 and 5’11” in height, it is hard to block the balls as well as hit through them.”

Mattea Bertling had three kills, Ivy Dirks had six assists and three ace serves.  Brianna Cook gave five digs, Ally Merrifield had three kills and Natasha Gray had a block.

The girls will play in the Crossover Classic Saturday, Oct. 8.  The time and place will be announced on the Herald Facebook page and online Friday, Oct. 7.  Also on Thursday read about the “Dig Pink” Tournament that was held Oct. 4,  at http://bonnersferryherald.com.
