CITY COUNCIL: Reader supports Todd Voth for city council

I would like you to consider some type of clarification about your header on my letter as supporting Todd Voth for mayor. While I would not be opposed to that, the voters need to be aware that in Moses Lakes' system of government our votes elect city council members. Then, the council itself meets to elect one of their own to be mayor. I would hope that our next (?) mayor would be a member with at least a year or two experience on the council rather than be totally new and have to lead the meetings too. I do support Todd Voth to be elected to city council. It's time for new ideas and a more frugal use of tax dollars and a more open and transparent city government. Some have been there way too long and don't care to hear dissenting opinions. The voters need to know that they won't be voting Todd to be mayor but they will be voting to change to a new mayor instead of keeping the status quo.

Thanks for considering my request.
