EASTON: No other way but 'perpetually'

In 1929 Mr. Fred Fitzes deeded 420 acres to the Boy Scouts of America, PERPETUALLY. He did a great thing for generations of scouts to come.

Now, Boy Scout Executive Tim McCandless wants to sell/trade that land to some developer out of Arizona?

Hold on! My Webster dictionary says; perpetual-1. a: continuing forever: EVERLASTING, b: valid for all time. How does a person get put in a position of responsibility who cannot read a dictionary?

When I was in the Boy Scouts, a lot of years ago, we were taught honesty, pride and integrity. I wonder if Mr. McCandless was ever in the Boy Scouts, or maybe he does not have a dictionary.

The bottom line is pretty obvious, even to an old scout like me: "If the land was deeded to the Boy Scouts of America perpetually, that means no one else can own it, PERIOD!"

We need a judge to explain that?

How could anyone even think of taking something as significant to the American People as the Boy Scouts of America Camp and developing it into financial gain? Then maybe the developing company in Arizona is Non-American? Is greed shadowing the fundamental objectives of one of the greatest grass roots American organizations in this country?

There are literally millions of Boy Scouts out here who learned valuable lessons from the Boy Scouts of America. I would like to hear what they would have to say if they knew what McCandless wants to do?
