MARLIN - During the week of the Grant County fair, while I was at work and my kids attending to their animals, I received a phone call indicating that my home had caught fire in Marlin. I work at the MLS office, and there were real estate brokers in my office at the time of the call. By the time I had gotten to Marlin I had numerous texts and phone messages from various real estate brokers, all wanting to know what I needed and how they could help. Getting on Facebook that evening, I had even more offers of help from the real estate community and the Moses Lake community. My kids and I truly felt a part of an amazing community!

ABC Properties was right there offering me furniture.

GMAC got me in contact with the Red Cross and set up some help from Colby's Dry Cleaners.

Alsted helped with the purchasing of items that couldn't be cleaned, prayers, and also a new king-size bed given to me by the Strickland family.

Coldwell Banker, Les Parr, TEC Realty, Sageland Properties, and Windermere Ephrata/Quincy pitched in and gave the kids and me some cash to help with whatever was needed.

Brokers from Moses Lake Realty Group supplied me with new kitchen items.

ReMax sent prayers, helped set up a spending account, and one of their brokers, Jan Holmes, gave my daughter a bed and bedroom set.

United Country was also an office who gave us some money and the designated broker Kevin Burgess offered to help the kids and I move and to help with anything that needed fixed or built.

Gary Mann's office offered to fix dinners for the kids and I, to find out what products worked best for removing smoke/ash/water stains on household items, a generous amount of money and some comedic relief.

Windermere K2 showed up at my office with car loads of household items!

Banner Bank, Chris Reese's office, Frontier Title, Grant County Realtors Association, and Moses Lake/Othello Realtors Association all pitched in and gave us gift cards and a basket full of fresh veggies right from the garden.

Toni Law with Cabi clothing gave me a few pieces of that fantastic clothing line.

And Stewart Title was generous enough to haul the beds and furniture to Marlin for me.

I can't find the words to express how thankful I am to everyone! How amazingly generous this community is. The kids and I feel completely taken care of! With such an abundance of items donated to the kids and me, I was able to pass on the overflow to another single mother who lost her home to a fire last month.

There are so many people who selfishly helped me! I truly hope I didn't over look any individual and/or an office.

I may live in Marlin, but my "community" is the real estate family in Grant County!

Thank you so very much.
