NIC sweeps Colorado NW in volleyball

COEUR d'ALENE - Yang Yang had 14 kills and four blocks as the ninth-ranked North Idaho Cardinals defeated the Colorado Northwestern Spartans 25-13, 25-11, 25-14 in a Scenic West Athletic Conference volleyball match at Christianson Gymnasium.

Janele Vogt had 11 kills and four blocks, Emily Sarff 13 digs and Sierra Pancho 25 assists for NIC (15-7, 3-1 SWAC), which hosts the Community Colleges of Spokane on Monday.

"It was nice to see everyone contribute tonight," NIC coach Kandice Kelly said. "In any other league match, we'll need everyone to be successful. It was nice to have everyone ready to go and play well tonight."

Colorado Northwestern drops to 3-13, 1-3.
