A donated sword valued at $3,000 was reportedly stolen from the Idaho Youth Ranch Thrift Store, according to a Coeur d'Alene police report.
The sword is stainless steel with a brass handle. There is a small dagger that fits in the handle.
Employees told police the sword was donated on Saturday and by Monday it was missing, the report said. The thrift store is at 845 N. Fourth St.
Idaho Youth Ranch raises money from the sale of used items at its more than 20 thrift stores statewide. Idaho Youth Ranch has three residential treatment homes throughout Idaho, including the Anchor House in Coeur d'Alene.
After being donated, the sword was left on a table in a back room, where donations are delivered by citizens.
Employees were not able to provide officers with any information about who might have taken the sword.
The store manager said there is no surveillance in the area where the sword was kept.
A store employee reached by phone declined to comment.
The manager provided police with two pictures of the sword, the report said.
The Press asked for the photographs, but Coeur d'Alene police Sgt. Christie Wood said they were of poor quality.
