Ray and Evelyn Arnhold have fished Potholes Reservoir for many years. Here Ray shows 2 walleye from a morning trolling near the sand dunes.

Our Indian Summer was beautiful but now it is over. Our surface water temperatures on Potholes Reservoir have been hovering around 60 degrees. Every fall for many years when our surface temps drop to 55 degrees Walleye action starts with a swim jig or blade bait. Fishing the humps on the face of the sand dunes in 15-40 feet of water would be your best bet using this type of bait. The best size swim jig for a large walleye would be a 4, 5 or 6 inch.

On October 1 & 2, 2011 we held the 2nd Annual Bass Walleye Combo Tournament at MarDon Resort. We pay down 5 places on each species. This is a big fish tourney. We would like to thank all of our participants and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
