Idaho State Police on Tuesday confirmed that the victim of last Wednesday's car fire fatality on Seltice Way near Cedar in Post Falls was Justin W. Gardner, 26, Rathdrum.

Gardner attended Lakeland High School, where he played football and ran track.

According to the state police, Gardner was westbound on Seltice near Commerce Loop. He went through several coned off areas in a construction zone, hitting several cones and a construction barrel.

The vehicle continued another three-quarters of a mile after hitting the cones, then stopped prior to Cedar Street and caught fire. Gardner was unable to exit the vehicle and died as a result of the fire. He was the only occupant.
