The Bonners Ferry City Council on Tuesday made motion to proceed with plans to annex several properties into the limits of the city.

This decision came after a public hearing held on Sept. 29 in which no citizens came out to speak for the annexation but several spoke against it.

According to city council, the subject 77 parcels receive city services at the same rate that city taxpayers do but don't pay city taxes.

Bonners Ferry council members decided to hold another public hearing at 5:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 14, at Kootenai River Inn.

This meeting will give residents a chance to speak their concerns before city council moves forward. The meeting also offers those people who are for the annexation to tell their side.

A list of these parcels are available at Bonners Ferry City Hall or on the city’s web site http://bonnersferry.id.gov/.
