Marijuana operation stopped

ROYAL CITY - A tip from a neighboring land owner led local and federal law enforcement officers to a marijuana growing operation here on Oct. 7.
Investigators confiscated 182 mature marijuana plants and 12 pounds of packaged marijuana. The haul has a street vale of about $225,000, according to authorities. Also seized was $8,500 in cash.
Arrested was María Isabel Magaña Godínez, 30, of Royal City. Charges include forgery and alien in possession of a firearm. She was taken to the Grant County Jail.
The enforcement action was carried out by the Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team, The Grant County Sheriff, the Royal City Police and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
