Cruise control: Kiser, Delventhal both score 5 goals as Wildkats down Loyola, 13-0

COLUMBIA FALLS - Maybe it was a statement. Maybe the Wildkats were winning one for their coach. Or maybe the Columbia Falls girls soccer team is just that good.
The Wildkats opened the Montana Class A Championship Series with a resounding 13-0 win over the Missoula Loyola Breakers Saturday afternoon.
The Kats will now travel to face three-time defending champion Billings Central. The Rams dropped Corvallis 4-0 Saturday. The winner will go on to play in the state championship match.
McKenzie Kiser, a senior, did on Saturday what she has done throughout a year in which she scored 22 times - pile up goals.
She booted in five goals in the second half to lead the Wildkats. Kiser also provided assists on three other scores.
Her teammate Danielle Delventhal, a junior, was similarly on top of her game. Delventhal scored the team's first four goals and added another in the second half.
Delventhal had 25 goals in the regular season and helped lead the Wildkats to their first conference championship in five years.
The team's other goals were scored by Cedar Jordt and Tayler Gress. Both Jordt and Gress also had assists in the game.
Columbia Falls' defense didn't allow a single shot on goal and attempted 31 shots as a team.
The Wildkats were coached by Columbia Falls' boys soccer coach Peter Browne. Kats coach Greg Trenerry had to travel out of the area because of a death in his family.
Browne said Trenerry will be back at the helm during the semifinals.
The Wildkats improved their overall record to 11-1-1.
Billings Central (11-1-0) is the only other Class A team with only one loss.
