ROYAL CITY - The struggling volleyball season continued for the Royal High School girls, falling to Connell and River View.

"It was disappointing to lose, but we played tough at times," coach Paul Osulfka said. "There were some good long rallies that ended in points."

The Connell match was pretty much a mis-match. The closest Royal came in either of the three games was eight points. The Eagles raced away 25-17, 25-14, 25-13.

Still there was some stellar play by the Knights. Lindsey Christensen scored seven kills and served two aces. Moriah Christensen served 8-for-8, made seven digs and three kills.

Madison Stakkeland went 7-for-7 serving, Tahlia Ledezma made 13 assists, and Kayla Smith had two blocks.

Royal started better against RV but finished about the same. The game scores were 25-23, 25-20 and 25-16.

"We had moments of putting it all together, but we couldn't get over the hill," Osulfka said.

Moriah Christensen had a big evening. She served 10-for-10, made an ace, seven digs and seven kills. Lindsey Christensen went 15-for-17 serving, had three aces, 15 digs and five kills. Ledezma had 18 assists, and Cambree Harris had one ace.
