If you're an angler, what better place is there to live than Central Washington? Just take a look at what's happening at the mouth of the Wenatchee River right now. Anglers are taking grand slams, which includes fresh, bright steelhead, Coho Salmon and big Chinook, all in the same morning!

Steelhead, Coho and Kings are spread out now and are being taken all the way up to Leavenworth. The number of steelhead that have passed over Priest Rapids Dam is over 20,000, which is 2,000 more than originally forecast. We are going to have a great steelhead season this winter.

I talked to Shane Magnuson and he is getting limits of big Kings at Vernita. Most of the fish are pretty mature, but there are a few bright fish moving in. I am planning a couple of steelhead trips. One to Wells Dam and maybe back to Bridgeport.

If Wells is as good as I have heard, I may go back there instead of driving to Bridgeport. I had a great day at Bridgeport recently, but want to try Wells, and I may even spend some time fishing for walleye while I'm there, too. I'll be sure and let you know how I do.

I had a great experience the other day. I had stopped by Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee and ran into someone that I knew from Lake Chelan.
