Carrey Lynn Harte, 43, of Coeur d'Alene, passed away while at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, on Oct. 16, 2011. Carrey was born Sept. 21, 1968, in Upland, Calif., to Robert and Cathey (Vorheier) Harte.
Carrey grew up in Southern California where she graduated from Apple Valley High School, after which she attained her cosmetology license. She continued her education at Victor Valley College, with focus on early childhood development. Carrey moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1996 with her family of father, mother and one brother.
She attended North Idaho College, continuing her education in early childhood development and additional general studies. She worked in customer service in various local retail stores and for the past seven years Carrey had been working for Center Partners in Coeur d'Alene as a customer service representative.
Carrey loved living in North Idaho. She loved the four seasons, especially fall and winter. One of her favorite interests was watching the bald eagles in the fall and early winter, and her daily walks enjoying sightings of wild turkey and deer in the Fernan area where she resided. She enjoyed the local events unique to small town Idaho, long car rides to discover new places, and celebrating the holidays with her family and friends.
Carrey was a very loyal and patriotic person and donated to U.S.O., American Family Association, and honored and supported our military service volunteers. Carrey was a loving, kind, sweet daughter and her sudden loss has been devastating to those who love her. She fought a courageous battle against brain cancer and she is now with the Angels.
Carrey is survived by her loving parents, Cathey and Robert Harte; her brother, Aaron Harte and his wife, Amy; nieces, Carlyn and Peyton; her aunt, Joy Mahoney; her uncle, Jeff Vorheier; her grandfather, Bill Vorheier; niece Lindsey and nephew Kyle Vorheier.
Her parents and family would like to thank the doctors and NICU nursing staff of Harborview Medical Center for their excellent care and support.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. You may visit Carrey's memorial and sign her online guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
