Donald Ray Park, 87

Donald Ray Park, 87, was born Nov. 25, 1923, in Wellington, Ohio, to Clyde and Maude Park. He was the youngest of three sons and was predeceased by his two older brothers, Frank and George. Dad went to heaven on Oct. 18, 2011, following an extended illness.

Dad served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946. After his discharge from the Navy Dad went on to business college and after earning his degree, worked in administration of sales at several furniture stores.

Our Dad, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Husband was hardworking, strong, loving and gentle. He had a captivating smile and the amazing hugs he gave said "I love you with my whole heart!" Dad was always looking for a way to help someone.

Dad married the love of his life, Mary Louise Moyel, on Aug. 22, 1947. His love for our mother didn't stop there, he always had plenty to share with his five children: Linda, Curtis, Janet, Gary and Nancy. He was totally devoted to his wife of 67 years, and his children, their spouses, his 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Dad taught us by example. He showed us the value of working hard to accomplish what you start. He showed us how to love unconditionally and we never had to question his love for us. This love started with his love for our mother and extended on to his entire family.

Our sincere thanks and gratitude goes out to the Hospice of North Idaho team and the Hospice House. Your weekly visits and way you care for Dad was appreciated more than words can express. The Hospice House employees were all so very gentle and compassionate to Dad and all of us. Many thanks.
