Meet Post Falls' candidates and eat chili

A candidate forum for Post Falls City Council will be held at City Hall on Thursday from 7-9 p.m.

The public is invited.

Candidates for seats 1 (Kerri Thoreson, Joe Bodman Jim Edgington), 3 (Scott Grant, Joe Malloy) and 5 (Skip Hissong, Barry Rubin) have been invited to participate.

The forum will be broadcast live on city cable channel 13. It will be rebroadcast on the channel on Sundays at 3 p.m. and Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 6 p.m. through Nov. 7. The forum will also be available as video on demand at www.postfallsidaho.org.

The Post Falls Chamber of Commerce will host a chili and soup cookoff at its building next to City Hall from 4-7 p.m. before the forum. The public is invited.

Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for kids 8 and under. The cost includes a tasting cup, beverage and ballot.

The Post Falls High cheerleaders will sell root beer floats for $1.

There will also be a karaoke contest. It costs $1 to sing and proceeds benefit a local soup kitchen.

A pumpkin-carving contest will be held at Art Conscious during the same time near the corner of Fourth and Spokane.
