A new soccer showcase featuring the

best prep players in the Flathead is slated for Nov. 4 at Memorial

Park. Organizer O’Brien Byrd is calling it an all-star game for the

local soccer community.

“It’s going to be a celebration of good

soccer,” Byrd said.

Both the boys and girls teams will

feature players from each of the valley’s high schools, including

Class A and Class AA. Players will be selected from Bigfork,

Columbia Falls, Flathead, Glacier, Libby, Polson, Stillwater

Christian and Whitefish.

Players selected must be seniors who

have earned All-Conference or All-State honors, or have been

honorably mentioned by a coach. Each team will have up to 18

players.

“Coaches, teammates, and family that

have followed these players through their careers will want to come

watch them in this showcase,” Byrd said. “We get to recognize our

local athletes and play under the lights at Memorial Park.”

The girls all-star game is at 4 p.m.

and the boys all-star game starts at 5:30 p.m. Following the two

games the premier level Flathead Rapids soccer club will take on

the Green Monarchs from Sandpoint, Idaho in the inaugural Valley

Cup at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the games are $5 adults,

$10 family pass or free for kids 12 and under. The game rosters

will be finalized after all-conference honors are awarded.
