WALLA WALLA - Moses Lake hit the road last night to take on Walla Walla looking for a much needed win and improve its seeding for the upcoming district tournament.

But the Lady Chiefs were sent home with a disappointing three set loss (25-20, 25-12, 25-18).

Moses Lake played competitive ball in the first and third set, but came unraveled in game two, scoring just 12 points.

'We are just not playing consistent volleyball right now," coach Amy Utter said. "We are making too many mental mistakes. We are not finishing well ... not on a single play in the match ... or the entire match its self."

Utter said it was frustrating to see the team giving matches away.

"We are not making team earn points," she said. " The girls need to put the ball on the floor and make plays for us."

Sadie Nielsen led the attack for Moses Lake with 10 kills and 11 digs. Kenzie Fancher had 18 assists and three blocks, libero Taylor Sinnenberg added 22 digs, and Briana Valdez finished with five kills.

The loss drops the Chiefs to 2-9 in Big 9 play. Moses Lake is on the road again to take on Davis in the last regular match of the season. A win would make the Chiefs the fifth seed in the upcoming district tournament and pit them against the fourth seeded team, which is yet to be determined. A loss drops Moses Lake to the sixth seed and puts them in a match with the No. 1 seed. The first round is single elimination, so the Chiefs need to be on their game if the expect to make a deep run in post season play.

"We don't know yet who'll we'll face in the first round," Utter said. "But regardless who it is, we need to focus on what we can do and not who is on the other side of the net."
