MOSES LAKE - The construction of ASPI Group's 50,000 square-foot warehouse on Doolittle Drive in Moses Lake restarted this week.
After a two month delay, the goal is to have the building at Gateway Commerce Park 3 completed by Dec. 31, according to Mike O'Halloran, project superintendant, with the Portland, Ore.-based Russell Construction.
About 24 people are working on the job site, completing concrete work, site work and installing an 8-inch water line, O'Halloran said. About 100 people total are involved with the project.
KMS, of Portland, Ore., is handling the concrete work and Advanced Excavation, of Moses Lake, is working on the water line.
"We're on an advanced schedule and doubling up on crews to get it done before cold weather sets in," O'Halloran explained.
They look forward to having concrete poured in the next three weeks.
Crews are working on panels now on the concrete tilt building and once done, the whole floor is covered with panels that stand up.
Walz Construction, of Moses Lake, is doing the roof, insulation and doors.
Granite Asphalt, of Moses Lake, is completing asphalt work and concrete is being supplied by Central Washington Concrete. About 900 yards of concrete is being used for the building floor.
"If we have pretty good weather through Thanksgiving, we'll be happy, very happy," he said.
Their mission is to have the asphalt done around Thanksgiving. It is because the asphalt plant closes in the winter due to heating costs involved with heating oil for asphalt, he said.
