COEUR d'ALENE - A Hayden stepfather received 30 months of probation for a December incident involving his then 18-month-old stepdaughter.

Zacharee J. Wright on Friday was sentenced on a charge of felony injury to a child by 1st District Judge John Luster, who also ordered Wright to pay yet-to-be-determined restitution.

Wright entered an Alford plea earlier this year, not admitting guilt but acknowledging prosecutors had enough evidence to convict him at trial.

Authorities accused Wright of pinning the girl face down on a concrete floor in a cold storage room in the basement of his home, in the 1100 block of East Whispering Pines. A 25-pound bag of dry drink mix or flour was laid on her back to keep her down. The child was not seriously injured in the Dec. 5 incident.

According to a Kootenai County sheriff's report, Wright admitted to investigators that he stuck the girl in the storage room with the bag on her back to get her to go to sleep.
