PASCO, Wash. - North Idaho College golfer Dylan Morrison took home medalist honors at the two-day Columbia Basin College Invitational, which wrapped up Monday afternoon.

Morrison led the Cardinals mens team to a second-place finish.

"Our 303 the first day was a pretty respectable score, and we didn't get everything we could out of our round," NIC golf coach Derrick Thompson said. "We were pretty hungry after the first day, and Dylan had a great round. He was third in our invitational, and you could see this coming, he's such a talented player.

The Cardinal men shot the low round (297) the second day.

On the women's side, Makena Schevenius shot 79-86-165 to help the NIC womens team take home second-place honors.

"We were leading by 16 shots the first day," Thompson said. "We played well and Makena shot her career low round (79) shot 79 to help us to a really good start.

"Unfortunately, we just didn't quite play well enough to win, but both teams ended the fall season on a good note."

The NIC teams are done until next spring.
