Foundation
The stone foundation of the Half Moon School teacherage provides a scenic border for agriculture-related excavation work being done on property owned by Gordon Cross near the intersection of Trumble Creek and Conn roads. The stonework is not the original foundation, though. The teacherage originally was located about a mile down the road to the south. The historic building, which has been relocated to another area of Cross’ property, has a noteworthy side story. Actor Kiefer Sutherland had the teacherage restored as a studio for his intended bride-to-be, Julia Roberts, in the early 1990s. The wedding didn’t materialize and Sutherland later sold the property to Cross.

According to foundation coordinator Nancy Clawson, tickets to nearly every tour are practically sold out.
