Cleo Anna Aarlie, 101, of Coeur d'Alene, died Oct. 27, 2011. She was born Nov. 11, 1909, in Spokane to Ora and Minnie (Johnson) Botts.

Cleo moved with her family to Harrison, attended school at Harrison Flats and graduated from high school in Harrison. She was married to Marvin Carl Aarlie on Dec. 25, 1930, in Harrison and they moved to St. Maries in 1932. Cleo and Marvin then moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1942. He preceded her in death in 1975.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday school there for 20 years. She was a member of Women's Circle and a 50-year member of Eastern Star. Cleo enjoyed gardening, crocheting, needle work and volunteering at Coeur d'Alene Homes.

Cleo is survived by her daughter, Carole Peterson of Lower Burrell, Pa.; a sister, Beatrice Tillotson of California; nieces and nephews, Linda McNeil of Spokane, Sandra Wills of Spokane, Jay Botts of Spokane, Diane Schneider of California, Jerry Botts of St. Maries, Jack Botts of St. Maries and Debra of Spokane; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and her beloved caregiver and friend, Sherry Dodd.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Botts and Arthur Botts.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, with burial following at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens.
