Born Dec. 5, 1912, in Lonoke County, Ark., to Charles L. and Patry Giddeus O'Cain. Died at Life Care Center in Coeur d'Alene on Oct. 29, 2011.

Mildred was raised by her grandparents after her parents both died. She moved to Klamath Falls, Ore., in her teens. There she met and married Elmer Langer on Sept. 3, 1933. They had five children: Mary Jane, Claudette, Judith, Kenneth and James.

Mildred worked various jobs in Klamath Falls including Bon Bazaar, Millers Dept. Store, Klamath County School District and Home Fabrics. Mildred lived in Lincoln City and Salem, Ore., before moving to Post Falls in April 2000. Mildred loved sewing, crocheting, tatting, cooking, gardening and playing cards. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mildred is survived by her children, Ken and Linda Langer of Post Falls, James and Arlene Langer of Shady Cove, Ore., Mary Jane Kilmer of Central Point, Ore.; son-in-law Patrick Benjamin of Aumsville, Ore.; grandchildren: Tracy Becker, Dustin Langer, Becky Curry, Michael Langer, Brian Benjamin, Allen Benjamin, Paula Benjamin, Karen Mitchell and Steve Haugen; great-grandchildren, Kiersten and Kamryn Becker, Owen Langer, Chase and Madison Benjamin, Justin and Ryan Mitchell, and Hanna and Rachel Haugen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, in November of 1966; daughters, Judith Benjamin and Claudette Haugen; and son-in-laws, Will Haugen and Raymond Kilmer.

No local services will be held. Private family services will be held at Picard Cemetery in Dorris, Calif.

In lieu of flowers, family would prefer memorial donations be made in Mildred's name to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
