Chili Cook-off and Salsa Contest set for Sept. 10

COEUR d'ALENE - Coeur d'Alene Elks Lodge 1254 is hosting its annual Chili Cook-off and Salsa Contest fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.

The event raises money to support our charities, such as providing dictionaries for every third grade student in Kootenai County, including home schooled students. The money also helps adopt families from North Idaho Violence Prevention at Christmas, and support Children's Village and Christmas for All, among others.

Contest winners will receive $100 for first place, $75 for second place and $50 for third place, and there is also $100 for the Peoples Choice winners in each category. Raffle prizes, give a ways, a hamburger stand, craft booths and an outside bar will also be on hand. Admission is a $5 donation, children under 12 years of age are free.
