A combination of stuff from every yard/garage sale you've ever been at is gathered into single stores. Thrift Addiction Too opened this past week at 3650 Government Way (Northgate Mall, behind Rockin' Robin Cafe). It joins Thrift Addiction, which had been the Leftovers store in Post Falls and moved to Bowdish at Sprague in Spokane.

Ultimate Athlete to move
Ultimate Athlete Sports Performance Training Center will move Oct. 1 from its 1,500-square-foot location at 7791 N. Aqua Circle Drive in Dalton Gardens to a 5,000-square-foot place at 1116 Sherman Ave., Coeur d'Alene. The building was a hardware store in the 1960s and later became part of Runge's Furniture, which has been at Spokane Avenue at Fourth Street for many years.
With new strength and conditioning equipment and a section of field turf, the company's motto is "advanced training for serious athletes." It comprises individualized, sport-specific, age-appropriate programs as well as semi-private small group training sessions.
Owner Bryan "Bud" Rasmussen said the facility has world-class coaching in a fun, motivated atmosphere.
"In 16 months we have trained over 28 clients who have advanced their athletic careers onto the collegiate level, had two individuals earn professional opportunities in the Major League Baseball draft and had three Olympians conduct training sessions," Rasmussen said.
Hours are early morning through evenings Monday through Saturday. Phone 664-8809 or 691-0404. Check www.ultimateathlete-cda.com.

Here this week's tidbits:
• Wow. It's already September. Mark your calendars for Art Walk this coming Friday, with free performances of "The Guys" at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. next Sunday (9-11) in the Cd'A Library, and the Tubbs Hill volunteer cleanup Sept. 17.
• "The Guys" is special for two reasons. Here son-in-law Todd Jasmin plays a New York fire chief being interviewed by a reporter after the 9-11 tragedy 10 years ago, and I saw the initial run of the play with actress Susan Sarandon talking and getting photos with North Idaho College students after the show in March 2002.
• A few quickies are Michael D's adding dinner, Lemon Grass adding beer and wine and Franklin's Hoagies doing the same soon, and Jonesy's Restaurants making its banquet room available for non-profit group breakfasts on Saturdays.
• It seems inconsistent that a traffic light is being added at 15th Street and Margaret/Shadduck (both eastern extensions of Kathleen) when there's no sidewalk between Troy and Honeysuckle leading to Coeur d'Alene High School.
• Watch for new construction soon in Riverstone.
• Doesn't it bug you when people use the fill-in word "anyway" all the time? Anyway, it doesn't have an "s." It's not anyways, anyway.
