Dr. Bob Ebert, 60

Robert A. Ebert, DDS, 60, of Coeur d'Alene, died Sept. 5, 2011. Bob was born May 7, 1951, in Ripon, Wis., and grew up on a dairy farm near Montello, Wis.

He met his wife, Karen (Secord) Ebert while attending the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and they were married May 27, 1972. After teaching science for five years in Buffalo and Ethete, Wyo., he returned to school and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Science degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Bob started his first dental practice in Poynette, Wis., in 1983. Bob moved with Karen and their three sons to Coeur d'Alene in 1991 where he has been practicing family dentistry ever since.

Bob's interests were many and varied. He enjoyed many outdoor activities. Always looking for new experiences, he became a private pilot and did some skydiving. In 1996 he became interested in elk ranching and established the Coeur d'Alene Wapiti Ranch.

Bob is survived by his wife, Karen, of Coeur d'Alene; sons, Chad of Coeur d'Alene and Brett of Eugene, Ore.; two brothers and one sister.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ryan, in 2004.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with Yates Funeral Home in care of the arrangements.
