COEUR d'ALENE - Former NFL star quarterback Drew Bledsoe - formerly of the New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills - had his $5,000 mountain bike stolen over the three-day holiday weekend, according to Coeur d'Alene police.
The former Washington State University star, 39, who currently lives in Bend, Ore., and his family were visiting friends in Coeur d'Alene in the 1000 block of East Front Avenue.
Bledsoe told The Press on Wednesday the bike was taken Sunday night or Monday morning.
He said the cable lock that secured the mountain bike, and two other bikes, to his car had been cut. Only his mountain bike, however, was taken. The other two bikes were road bikes for him and his wife.
The stolen bike was a black Santa Cruz full-suspension Tallboy.
It had an "All Season" sticker on the frame near the crankset, a police report said.
The bike has chrome spokes and aluminum wheels.
Bledsoe said he was on his way home from a cabin in Whitefish, Mont., north of Kalispell.
He said they come through Coeur d'Alene once or twice per year.
