GREAT FALLS - Lexy Boschee had 24 kills, Cassidy Hashley added seven blocks and Hannah Liss recorded 40 assists as the Glacier Wolfpack downed Billings Skyview 25-23, 28-26, 21-25, 22-25, 15-8 on Thursday night at Great Falls High.

Billings Senior defeated Flathead 25-19, 25-11, 23-25, 25-20 at CMR.

Both teams are playing in the Great Falls Invitational today.

"Lots of close games. I think the close games and the going to five (sets) shows a little inconsistency right now," said Glacier coach Christy Harkins.

"We struggled with serve receive tonight, that's for sure," she added.

"We had a rough night passing and defense in general just wasn't our strong suit tonight. We did kill the ball pretty well," she added.

As a team, Glacier recorded 52 kills, which Harkins found encouraging.

Kills: Glacier 52 (Lexy Boschee 24, Dayna Niebaum 10), Skyview 48 (Mariah Stiffarm 25); Assists: Glacier 44 (Hannah Liss 40), Skyview 37 (Breanne Mason 34); Blocks: Glacier 11 (Cassidy Hashley 7), Skyview 8 (Mikena Astor-Miller 4); Digs: Glacier 62 (Emily Gilbertson 15), Skyveiw 59 (Anyssa Maciel 22); Aces: Glacier 8 (Liss 3, Amy Snipstead 2), Skyview 12 (Mason 4).

Senior 3, Flathead 1

Passing was the main problem for the Flathead Bravettes.

"Mentally, we were up and down, aggressive and not aggressive. But our passing was pretty bad all night. We could never really get our offense going," said Flathead coach Leon Wilcox.

"I thought we served well. We only missed three serves in the match ... but we couldn't get any momentum going because of our passing," he said.

Flathead and the Broncs were tied at 11-all in the second game, but one Senior player served 14 straight points.

Flathead bounced back to claim the third game, but wound up losing in four.

"(The Bravettes) were frustrated with themselves. We know we can beat these good teams if we pass well. We were neck and neck with them, but we gave up big strings of points with bad passing.

"We just couldn't get clicking," Wilcox said.

Kills: Flathead 36 (Hannah Sackett 12), Senior 49 (Elayna Rice 14); Assists: Flathead 27 (Emily Russell 14), Senior 37 (Jace Henderson 31); Blocks: Flathead 1 (Kwyn Johnson) Senior 11 (Andrea Bowers 4); Digs: Flathead 65 (Alison Lunde 14), Senior 52 (Jacey Habets 14); Aces: Flathead 7 (Russell 3); Senior 17 (Bowers 8).
