Frank and Betty Marriott

65th Anniversary

Frank and Betty Marriott, of Hayden, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Sept. 6, 2011. They wed in Tonopah, Nev., in 1946. They are both natives of Southern California and have been in this area for 26 years.

Frank retired from Southern California Edison Company. Betty retired as office manager of a group of dentists before moving to Idaho.

They have two children, five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Bonnie and Gil Zavala

50th Anniversary

On Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, Bonnie and Gil Zavala of Rathdrum celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Married in Pasadena, Calif., in 1961 they moved to Idaho in 2003.

They celebrated with approximately 130 guests in the backyard of their residence.

Joining them were their four children: Yvette and Chris Covey of Hayden Lake and their children, Dane and Pearl; Michelle and Buck Storm of Hayden and children, Ransom and Willow; Damon and Marci of Reno, Nev., and their sons, Luke and Landon; son Lance and daughter Rylee of Hayden.

Adding to the festivities, prior to the anniversary party, Lance and Tina Marie Corona were married. Gil and Bonnie happily welcome Tina's four boys, Auston, Tyson, Dylan and Ethan into their family.

In addition to many local friends and neighbors, there were many family members and longtime friends that came great distances to honor the Zavalas.

Of special interest are Bonnie's mother, Helen Nign who recently turned 90. She and Bonnie's stepfather, Ken, live in Arcadia, Calif. Two of Bonnie's bridal attendants were able to attend. Beverly Badaracco and husband, Marty, of Palm Desert, Calif., Joan Olson and husband, Jack, of San Antonio, Texas.

They have all been friends since the fifth grade. Gil's friend since kindergarten, Ernie Negrete, and wife Priscella of Reseda, Calif., were also able to be with them.

The Zavalas thank their Lord for so many wonderful, loving people in their lives and for bringing them through the many storms of life.

Roger and Sherryl Gillaspy

50th Anniversary

Roger and Sherryl Gillaspy, of Post Falls, will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary at an after church get together and open house Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011.

Light refreshments will be served by their family at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 9485 N. Maple St., Hayden, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Your presence is most welcome. No gifts please.

The couple were married July 2, 1961, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They were blessed with two daughters, Cara and Stacia and resided in Underwood, Iowa, until moving here in 1973.

Roger and Sherryl now have three grandchildren, Chad (wife Alecia), Bethany and Amanda; and great-grandsons Kyler, Keishon, Kayden and Kyron.

Imogene Sverdsten

80th Birthday

Imogene Sverdsten celebrated her 80th birthday on Sept. 8, 2011. Imogene is a longtime resident of the Coeur d'Alene area.

Isabella Rose Munoz was born at 6:31 p.m. Aug. 27, 2011, to Holly and James Munoz of Coeur d'Alene. She weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. and was 22 inches long. Sister is Mia Violet Munoz. Maternal grandparents are Bob and Jennie Peak. Paternal grandparents are William and Patricia Munoz.

Ryder Uriah Markus Dooley was born at 10:50 a.m. Aug. 11, 2011, to Rhonda DiAnne Bahr and Isaac Dooley of Rathdrum. He weighed 6 lbs. 9.2 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. Sister is Shelby Senn. Maternal grandparents are Rhonda DaNeece Bahr and Richard Roosevelt Bahr. Paternal grandparents are May and Les Dooley.

Kage Sawyer Rupinski was born at 7:55 a.m. July 19, 2011, to Kristin and Jerry Rupinski Jr. of Post Falls. He weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. and was 19 inches long. Brothers are Connor and Ledger Rupinski. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Darryl Reed. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Rupinski.
