Marlyce Sverdsten, 80, of Coeur d'Alene, passed away Sept. 9, 2011, at her home. She was born June 27, 1931, in Eau Claire, Wisc. At a young age Marlyce moved to Coeur d'Alene. After graduating from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1949, she attended Sacred Heart Nursing School, graduating in 1953.

In 1955, Marlyce married Don Sverdsten. They made their family home in Cataldo where they raised their two daughters. Following their divorce in 1982, Marlyce returned to Coeur d'Alene where she resumed her career as a nurse at Coeur d'Alene Homes. Marlyce enjoyed reading, gardening and volunteering.

Marlyce is survived by her daughters: Lynn (Bob) McCollum, of San Antonio, Texas; and Marcy (Fred) Hasz, of Kingston, Idaho; granddaughter Josalun Hasz, of Garmisch, Germany; sister Marietta Hanson, of Grangeville, Idaho, and numerous nieces and nephews.

At Marlyce's request, no service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Idaho or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
