Flathead's Zach Perrin once again out-ran the competition and placed first, this time at the Ronan Invitational cross country meet on Saturday.
Perrin's winning time - 15 minutes, 21 seconds.
Likewise, Bigfork runner Makena Morley remained in peak form as she won the girls division with a time of 17:33, almost a full minute ahead of second place finisher Paige Gilchrist of Missoula Hellgate.
But it was Hellgate that won the day, snatching the team wins in both the girls and boys divisions.
"They're pretty tough to beat," Flathead coach Paul Jorgensen said.
The Braves did manage to post the second-best team score in the boys division with Perrin and fifth-place Hunter Schutt leading the way.
"Our top five guys ran pretty close for pretty much the entire race," Jorgensen said.
Columbia Falls runner Derrick Williams came in third with a time of 15:53 and Fischer Gangemi of Whitefish was 14th, 17:16.
The Flathead girls finished third with two runners in the top 10. Paige Bouma came in fourth, 19.21 and teammate Bailey Hughes finished ninth, 20.11.
The top finisher for Columbia Falls girls was Jinise Osborne who clocked a time of 20.14, good enough for 10 place.
The next big outing for valley runners is Mountain West in Missoula on Saturday.
